Reverend Ryan Malicsi Signature MM review
The Reverend Ryan Malicsi Signature MM is a Jetstream-style electric guitar with a Korina body, roasted maple neck and fingerboard, and three Reverend 9A5 P90 single-coil pickups. Its specification combines a familiar 25.5-inch scale with a tremolo and a bass contour control. The listed price is $1,179. These details provide a solid basis for assessing the instrument's layout and construction, but there are no customer reviews available, and the published specifications do not establish how it sounds or feels in use.
Body, neck, and playing dimensions
The body is made from Korina, with no separate top listed. The finish information has a small inconsistency: the general color field says Pink, while the detailed specification names the color Mulberry Mist. Buyers should confirm the exact finish with the seller if that distinction matters to them.
The neck is bolt-on and made from roasted maple, as is the fingerboard. The medium oval neck profile gives a specific shape reference, though that description alone cannot determine whether the neck will suit a particular player. The fingerboard radius is 305 mm, or 12 inches, and the scale length is 648 mm, or 25.5 inches. These measurements describe the geometry, not the instrument's comfort or setup.
The guitar has 22 medium jumbo frets and black dot fingerboard inlays. Nut width is 43 mm, or 1.69 inches, and the nut is made from Boneite. The provided string specification is.010 to.046. The figures are useful for comparing the guitar with other instruments, while fret condition, action, and setup quality would need to be checked on the actual instrument.
Pickup and control layout
Three Reverend 9A5 P90 single-coil pickups form the pickup system. The listed arrangement is three P90s, with a three-way toggle switch, volume control, tone control, and bass contour control. The specifications identify the components and controls, but do not explain the switch positions or the range and operation of the bass contour circuit. Those details are worth confirming if you need a precise switching map before purchase.
Three pickups provide several pickup locations within the instrument's layout, but the available information does not document their output, wiring, or measured tonal response. It would be inaccurate to claim a particular sound based on the pickup names alone. Players comparing this guitar with a model using a different pickup configuration should treat the number and type of pickups as confirmed facts, not as a guarantee of a specific result.
Tremolo and hardware
The hardware specification includes a Wilkinson WVS50 IIK tremolo and Reverend pin-lock tuning machines. The tremolo is listed as present, but the supplied information does not describe its adjustment range, stability, or setup. Gold hardware is specified. These details establish the intended hardware configuration without making claims about long-term performance or tuning behavior.
The product listing says that neither a case nor a gig bag is included. That is a practical point to factor into the purchase, especially if the guitar will need protection for transport or storage. The listed sales unit is one piece.
What the specifications establish
- Body and finish: Korina body, with Pink in the general color field and Mulberry Mist in the detailed color specification.
- Neck and fingerboard: Bolt-on roasted maple neck, roasted maple fingerboard, medium oval profile, and 12-inch radius.
- Scale and frets: 25.5-inch scale, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a 1.69-inch nut width.
- Electronics: Three Reverend 9A5 P90 single-coil pickups, three-way toggle switch, volume, tone, and bass contour controls.
- Hardware and included items: Wilkinson WVS50 IIK tremolo, Reverend pin-lock tuning machines, gold hardware, and no case or gig bag.
Verdict
The Reverend Ryan Malicsi Signature MM is clearly specified in several important areas: its Korina body, roasted maple construction, three-P90 layout, 25.5-inch scale, and tremolo system. Its control set also includes a bass contour, although the available listing does not explain its operation. The missing case or gig bag and the Pink versus Mulberry Mist color wording are worth checking before ordering.
At the stated $1,179 price, the specifications offer a concrete starting point for comparison, not a substitute for hands-on evaluation. No customer reviews are available, so there is no user feedback to report. For a buying decision, confirm the finish, ask about the control and switching details, and inspect the individual guitar's setup where possible. The item is listed as available since April 2026, with item number 640537.
